  1. The Types of Personal Data We Collect

We collect information so that we can provide you the best possible experience when you utilize our Services.

Information you provide to us

We collect information you voluntarily provide to us, such as your name, phone number and email address, when you, for example:

  • want to learn more about Optimal Answers Services and complete a form (e.g., you provide your email);
  • contact our Customer Satisfaction team for assistance with your Optimal Answers products (e.g., you provide your phone number); or
  • participate in contests or surveys, apply for a job or otherwise participate in activities we promote that might require information about you.

Information we collect automatically

We also collect additional information when delivering our Services to you to facilitate necessary and optimal performance. This type of data collection focuses on your use of and interaction with our Services, and we may use a variety of methods (e.g., internet cookies, web beacons, similar technologies) to collect the data.

For example, as you navigate through and interact with our websites or mobile applications, we may for example, collect information about:

  • the equipment you use to access our websites including system information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP (internet protocol) address, operating system, and browser type.
  • your browsing actions and patterns to understand how you access information during your visits to our websites, including traffic data, location data, logs and other communication data.
  • the content you access and use on the Websites.

Below describes a bit more about the variety of methods we may use.

  • Internet Cookies on our websites and our mobile applications allow us to track your browsing behavior, links clicked, items purchased, your device type, and to collect various data, including analytics, about how you use and interact with our Services. Internet Cookies (also known as Browser Cookies or, simply, Cookies) are small files that may be placed on your hard disk for record-keeping purposes. Cookies are used: (a) to remind us of who you are in order to deliver you better service;(b) to help us estimate our audience size by determining repeat usage of the Websites in order to help target advertisements based on user interests and behavior; and (c) to measure certain traffic patterns for use as a research tool to understand how our users’ habits are similar or different from one another.
  • Web Beacons(also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, or single-pixel gifs) are links to small, often transparent, graphic images, usually no larger than 1×1 pixels that are placed on a web page or in an email. These Web Beacons are used to monitor behaviors of those who visit the web page or send the email. When a user visits the web page or opens the email, the link goes to the specified location to retrieve the Web Beacon. The server then may count how many users have visited the pages or opened the e-mail, determine how long a user is on a web page, understand what browser or email client opened the image, and find other related website statistics.
  • Remarketing Tools allow us to reach potential users who may be similar to users that have previously visited our websites (also known as “similar audience” remarketing). For example, we may use AdWords, a remarketing and behavioral targeting service provided by Google. The service connects the activity of our websites with AdWords’ advertising network. AdWords displays advertisements across the internet by analyzing user activity to identify and reach out to potential customers of our Services based on their similarity to you and the other individuals who have visited our websites. By using our website, you consent to allow Google AdWords to place its cookies on your hard drive.
  • Data About Usage of Services may be collected when you use and interact with our Services, including metadata, log files, cookie/device IDs and location information. This information includes specific data about your interactions with the features, content and links (including those of third-parties, such as social media plugins) contained within the Services, Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type and settings, the date and time the Services were used, information about browser configuration and plugins, language preferences and cookie data, information about devices accessing the Services, including type of device, what operating system is used, device settings, application IDs, unique device identifiers and error data, and some of this data collected might be capable of and be used to approximate your location.
  • Information Obtained from Other Sources may be received about you, including publicly available databases or third parties from whom we have purchased data or partners with whom we offer co-branded services or engage in joint marketing activities, in which case we may combine this data with information we already have about you so that we can update, expand and analyze the accuracy of our records, identify new customers, and provide products and services that may be of interest to you. We may also receive information about you from social media platforms, for example, when you interact with us on those platforms. We protect data obtained from publicly available databases and third parties according to the practices described in this Privacy Policy, and we also apply any additional restrictions imposed by the source of data. If you provide us personal information about others, or if others give us your information, we will only use that information for the specific reason for which it was provided to us.
